OCD Treatment (ERP Therapy)

I provide ERP therapy for OCD in Lakeland, Florida…

Living with OCD can feel exhausting, the intrusive thoughts, the rituals, the constant what-ifs. Maybe you worry about contamination, fear something terrible will happen, get caught in “just one more check” or have taboo intrusive thoughts that can feel scary to share with others. OCD convinces you that avoiding or neutralizing the fear will bring relief, but in reality, it only keeps the cycle going.

That’s where Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) come in. Together, we’ll gently face the fears that OCD tells you to avoid, while practicing new ways of responding that align with your values.

You’ll learn to:

  • Break free from compulsions and rituals

  • See intrusive thoughts for what they are (just thoughts)

  • Reclaim time and energy for what matters most

  • Build courage and flexibility to live the life OCD tries to take from you

Anxiety Therapy in Lakeland

Specialized therapy for health anxiety and panic

Anxiety shows up in many ways, constant worry, panic attacks, perfectionism, social fears, or that “never good enough” inner critic. It tricks you into believing that worry is keeping you safe, but instead, it keeps you from fully living.

In our work together, I’ll use approaches like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) Skills, and ACT to help you:

  • Manage panic and physical symptoms of anxiety

  • Quiet the overthinking mind and find calm

  • Loosen the grip of perfectionism

  • Build confidence in facing fears instead of avoiding them

Therapy won’t erase anxiety completely but it will help you change your relationship with it, so you can feel more grounded, capable, and free.

Trauma-Informed Care

Trauma-Informed Care for Anxiety & OCD

Even if trauma isn’t the main reason you’re coming to therapy, it often lives beneath the surface of anxiety and perfectionism. That’s why I take a trauma-informed approach to all of my work. This means:

  • You are always in control of your therapy process.

  • We move at a pace that feels safe, never rushed.

  • I honor the ways you’ve learned to survive, while helping you build new ways to thrive.

  • Boundaries, safety, and collaboration are at the heart of our work together.

We may use approaches like Internal Family Systems (IFS) and DBT skills to help you reconnect with your sense of self, reduce triggers, and build resilience.

You don’t have to share everything at once your story unfolds when you’re ready, and you’ll be supported every step of the way.

Treatment Approachs

  • CBT helps you understand the connection between your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. Together, we’ll identify unhelpful thinking patterns and practice new ways of responding that reduce anxiety and self-criticism. CBT is practical, structured, and effective for creating lasting change.

  • ERP is the gold-standard treatment for OCD and anxiety disorders. It involves gradually facing feared thoughts, situations, or sensations while resisting the urge to engage in compulsions or avoidance. Over time, you’ll learn that anxiety doesn’t have to control your actions and that freedom is possible.

  • DBT focuses on building skills in mindfulness, emotional regulation, distress tolerance, and interpersonal effectiveness. It’s especially helpful if you struggle with intense emotions, people-pleasing, or perfectionism. I integrate DBT tools with compassion and humor to help you feel more balanced and confident in everyday life.

  • IFS views the mind as made up of different “parts” each with its own role and story. Some parts protect you from pain, while others carry old wounds. Together, we’ll explore these parts with curiosity and compassion, helping you reconnect with your core Self the calm, wise center within you that fosters healing.

  • ACT teaches you to make peace with your inner experiences instead of constantly fighting them. You’ll learn to observe thoughts and feelings without judgment, align your actions with your values, and take steps toward the life you want even when anxiety shows up.
